Mobile Technology for Business

Posted by Angelo Rosati on Nov 1, 2017 7:00:00 AM

You get up to the alarm on your mobile phone and check new emails before you get ready for another workday. As you get dressed, you check the organizer on your tablet, which reminds you that no, you are not going to the office today. You will oversee a new project in the field, so you call the project manager on his company-issued rugged phone. He answers on the first ring, clearly anticipating your call. He reports that the team on the project has been briefed, and is looking forward to meeting you on site. On your way to the site, stop at the local Starbucks, to pick up the coffee you preordered with your mobile app. When you get to the site, you log into the company network to access the project information that the team needs.

You are not alone. Most workers nowadays live lives on the go, largely dependent on their mobile devices to complete daily tasks. Why not, when their multiple roles require them to both be in the field and behind a computer screen? Mobile technology for business has greatly changed the world of work, enabling workers to stay connected to the central office while they fulfill their tasks in the field.
