lte-logo-resize1In our Oct. 15th post we provided a wireless data technology overview that summarized data throughputs by standards and generation. 4G- the next generation of cellular networks is making quite a splash in the news and today I’d like to provide more information about LTE or Long Term Evolution.

LTE promises to not only make existing applications faster, but provide a wealth of applications previously only available on a wired connection. LTE offers amazingly high data rates and sector throughputs that meet the demands for wireless broadband that consumers are looking for, such as:

  • More connectivity
  • More customized content
  • More product capabilities

LTE is a leading technology that can deliver what consumers want while also delivering a low cost per bit for operators. LTE is seeing increased popularity among carriers and the first LTE networks are expected to be commercially launched in the very near future.
